The FINE LINE Between Feminism & Women Empowerment

As a woman in today's society, I believe in the power and strength that we possess. However, I find myself at odds with the concept of contemporary feminism. Let me explain why.

Feminism, as a movement starting back in the 19th century aims to advocate for gender equality in issues such as social stereotypes and roles, workplace inequality, reproductive rights, and political and legal rights seems taking a different approach nowadays, especially with the rise of extreme feminist behaviors such men-hating and projection of female masculinity in odd ways.

Contemporary feminism, as it is often portrayed, seems to focus more on division rather than unity, promoting a narrative that pits women against men, creating an unnecessary rift between the genders. Additionally, feminism, at times, perpetuates negative stereotypes about men, portraying them as the enemy or oppressors. This generalization is not only unfair but also counterproductive to fostering healthy relationships between genders.

This makes me question the core principles and ideologies that underpin this movement and its narrow narrative that doesn't resonate with the experiences of many. However, I'm not belittling women aiming to make a change and that's what makes me an advocate for another movement which is women empowerment that is seeking to uplift women and celebrate their strength, independence, and achievements.

Why women empowerment? Because it simply means recognizing and celebrating the unique qualities and abilities that women bring to the table. It means supporting and uplifting one another, regardless of our differences and preferences.

I believe that true empowerment comes from embracing our femininity and using it as a strength, rather than trying to conform to a specific mold defined by society. We should be proud of our nurturing nature, our emotional intelligence, and our ability to multitask. These qualities should be celebrated, not diminished.

This also means having the freedom to make choices that align with our values and aspirations. Whether we choose to pursue a career, start a family, or both, our decisions should be respected and supported. We should not be judged or criticized for the path we choose, as long as it brings us fulfillment and happiness. However, women empowerment should be focused on providing women with the tools, resources, and opportunities necessary to reach their full potential in all aspects of life, be it personal, professional, or societal.

It remains undeniable that some cultures and men oppress women, from gender-based violence to discriminatory laws. However, it's important to acknowledge that not all men perpetuate this oppression.

To sum up, it's crucial to remember that we completely not compete with each other and that it's equally important to embrace and celebrate the different paths that make our social mosaic a beautiful one where all can feel confident in pursuing their unique paths.
